London by iPhone

While I was bouncing around Europe, South Africa and Mauritius this spring – I came and went through the UK. Instead of crossing the pond between every leg of my trip it was just easier and less time consuming to spend time with the friends I have in London and out in the countryside. It was a treat because some of my favorite people in the world are in the UK and seeing them often made me feel like I was at home in a way I don’t often feel as a nomad.

Everywhere I went in London or outside of it, I took my trusty iPhone and of course I snapped a few photographs. Some of my favorites, from London before the Olympics and Jubilee madness descended:

Such pretty shots of my favorite place on the planet! London is such a photogenic place, whether it’s for its architecture, food, nightlife or urban art. Very inspiring!

Awh! Thanks!! I am so glad you enjoyed the photographs. And I agree, London is a divine place. It won’t replace Paris for me, but I do love London.

Hi Kirsten – Brilliant shots – I used to do a lot of street photography when I lived in london – Used to love the whole Urban exploring thing just going off with a camera and an oyster card, the photographic pops are one of the few things i miss about the big smoke.

Hi Tristan! Thanks for the comment :) Have I ever told you how much I love that name?? Ever since Legends of the Fall. I’m sure you’ve heard that before though.

Yes, wandering around a city simply taking pictures is one of my favorite things to do when I travel. I never tire of it. And London (the big smoke? Never heard that!) is one of the best cities to do that in.

      645Pro is a good app. You’re right!

These are great images. The murals are very striking – I especially loved the man & dog on the blue wall. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, Gina! I too love taking photographs in London’s Tube. There is always something to capture.

Just came across your blog via Nomadic Matt and so glad I clicked through – you had me at the term iPhoneography! Love how you’ve captured all your adventures on your phone. Will definitely be visiting regularly for more eye candy.

Hi Melanie! I’m so glad you stumbled over here via Matt! I was very thankful he listed me, a kind thing for him to do.

Yes — this blog features images almost exclusively taken on my iPhone. Though, I do shoot with a Canon dSLR too. I sort of took it as a challenge upon myself to see if I could travel light with only an iPhone and so far it seems to be working out ok.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment!

Hi Callie! I love that mural too, it’s in Brick Lane and has been there for some time if you’re ever in that part of London, check it out.
